Around ₹1,000 crore was released to beneficiaries of Indiramma Houses so far. Telangana Housing Corporation’s managing director, VP Gautham said on Tuesday that construction of 2.04 lakh Indiramma houses has begun and basement of one lakh houses has been completed so far.

The Telangana government is providing financial assistance of ₹5 lakh per beneficiary towards construction of the houses.

It is released in four instalments — ₹1 lakh upon completion of basement, the second instalment of ₹1.25 lakh would be transferred upon completion of walls; ₹1.75 lakh after laying the slab and the remaining ₹1 lakh after complete construction of the house.

A photo of the house has to be uploaded on the Indiramma Houses App after completion of each stage. Usually, the panchayat secretary uploads the photos. Mr. Gautham said that beneficiaries too can upload photos now.

At a meeting held with project directors and deputy engineers in Hyderabad, the managing director asked officials to spread awareness among people that the amount would be released on every Monday, within 15 days after completion of each stage.

Mr. Gautham said that it has come to his notice that some people have demanded money for releasing bills. The managing director cautioned that apart from initiating department action, such complaints would be forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Bureau for investigation.
