As many as 16 people were killed and several are believed to have been injured as a truck carrying gravel rammed into a state Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The bus was travelling from Tandur to Chevella with passengers on the state highway near Chevella when a truck rammed into it head-on at 7.30 am.
According to the Hyderabad police, both drivers of the bus and the truck have succumbed to injuries, apart from eight other passengers who died on the spot.
“The gravel from the bus fell into the truck once the collision happened. This aggravated the situation and caused more casualties,” a Hyderabad police officer told The Indian Express.
