16 passengers injured after bus overturns in Madhya Pradesh

BARWANI: Sixteen passengers were injured early Sunday after a private bus overturned in the Anjad police station area of Barwani district.Additional SP Dheeraj Babbar told TOI that the accident took place around 4:30 am near Talwada Deb on the Barwani–Thikri highway when a private passenger bus travelling from Bhopal to Alirajpur lost control and overturned.He said, "Preliminary inquiry revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a bull that suddenly came in front of the bus."The injured passengers were taken to hospitals in Anjad and Barwani, he added.Mohan Mandloi, who was travelling from Bhopal to Nanpur, said that everyone was asleep at the time of the accident, so it was not possible to determine its cause.Civil Surgeon Dr Anita Singare of Barwani District Hospital said, "All the injured, including a 10-year-old child, 13 men, and two women have been brought to the district hospital and are in stable condition."The overturned bus was removed with the help of a crane, and traffic on the route has since been restored.On October 31, a bus carrying pilgrims also overturned in the Khetia police station area in Barwani district, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to 59 people.
