18 injured as bus overturns on Thrissur-Kunnamkulam State highway

Eighteen people were injured when a private bus overturned near Kaipparambu on the Thrissur-Kunnamkulam State Highway on Friday. The bus, which was travelling from Pavaratty to Thrissur, met with the accident near Ezhamkallu Centre. According to eyewitnesses, a car in front of the bus swerved suddenly, causing the driver to lose control of the bus, which then hit a tree before toppling across the road. Among the injured were the bus staff too. All the injured were rushed to Amala Hospital nearby.

Traffic on the stretch was disrupted for hours until the overturned bus was removed with the help of a crane, after which normal movement was restored.
