Forest, Ecology and Environment Minister Eshwar B. Khandre on Friday directed officials to clear all forest encroachments made after 2015, noting that over 2,000 acres of forest land in Mandya district remain under illegal occupation.

Presiding over a review meeting with district forest officials at Maddur in Mandya district, Mr. Khandre emphasised that increasing green cover and protecting existing trees are critical to tackling global warming.
