2 booked for objectionable post on RSS flag in Guna

BHOPAL: Two youths have been booked in connection with an objectionable social media post showing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) flag with the word “deshdrohi” (traitor) written across it.

The incident was reported from the Aaron area of Guna district, leading to police action.According to police, the case was registered on the complaint of Raghuraj Singh Raghuvanshi, a resident of Aaron. Raghuvanshi said he came across the post on social media and found it offensive. He alleged that Armaan Pathan had allegedly created and uploaded the post by superimposing the word deshdrohi on the RSS flag, while Salman Pathan subsequently shared it on his account.Raghuvanshi told police that the act had hurt the sentiments of the “entire Hindu society.” He submitted a screenshot of the post along with his application.Acting on the complaint, Aaron police registered an FIR against Armaan and Salman Pathan under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.Police officials said the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will follow.
