2 Gujarat Rajya Sabha members are crorepatis: ADR

Gandhinagar: Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Wednesday published a report showing two Rajya Sabha members from Gujarat are crorepatis.The report also says that one member has two criminal cases.An ADR statement said the two crorepati Rajya Sabha members are Babubhai Desai, who has assets worth Rs 34.7 crore; and Govindbhai Dholakia, who has assets worth Rs 27.9 crore.The statement said that Desai has two criminal cases against him, pertaining to causing grievous hurt, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, and criminal intimidation.Nationally, of the 226 Rajya Sabha members, 69 (31%) have criminal cases registered against them, and 31 are crorepatis, the ADR report said.
