20-yr-old gangraped, thrashed & forced to transfer Rs 40K using UPI in Sidhi

Bhopal: A 20-year-old girl was gangraped, thrashed and forced to transfer Rs 40,000 using UPI by two accused who were working at her house as painters in Sidhi district.When the incident took place, she was alone at her house, and the family members went out for some work.

Taking advantage of the situation, the two accused, identified as Anup Saket and Rakesh Saket, both aged around 21 years, first thrashed her and made her transfer Rs 40,000 using UPI, and then they took turns to gangrape her.

The incident took place on Thursday. Scared, the survivor waited till late evening for her parents to return home and then narrated her ordeal.The kin rushed her to Jamodi police station. Police registered a case against the two on her complaint and launched a hunt.

They were both arrested on Friday.“One of the accused, Anup, was on one-day police remand and was sent to judicial remand on Saturday, while other Rakesh is in police remand till June 16 as further investigation is going on,” Jamodi police station incharge Divya Prakash Tripathi told TOI.He added, “The accused not only extorted money and gangraped her but also beat her. She sustained injuries on her head and had got stitches.”
