25-year-old man held for giving death threat to Delhi CM

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old individual was taken into custody on Saturday for allegedly issuing a death threat to Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, according to police officials.The suspect was identified as Shlok Tripathi, although police sources indicated he is known to be a fraudster who routinely alters his identity.The Delhi Police took him into custody and are conducting interrogations at the Special Cell office located in northwest Delhi, as confirmed by an official.The threat was conveyed through the emergency helpline 112 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, during the night between Thursday and Friday.Upon receiving the call, Ghaziabad police informed their Delhi counterparts and sent a team to Panchwati Colony, the location from which the call originated. However, the suspect initially managed to escape, stated Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad, Ritesh Tripathi.
