27-year-old Telangana techie found dead in farmhouse pool, police suspect foul play

A 27-year-old software professional was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a farmhouse in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.

The deceased, identified as Gundla Madhu, worked for a software company in Hyderabad. According to police, Madhu had travelled to a farmhouse in Koyyalagudem village, along with several colleagues for a weekend get-together.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that around 15 employees from the same company had gathered at the farmhouse for a party. The group reportedly spent the evening socialising, with celebrations continuing late into the night.

The gathering took a tragic turn when Madhu was later found dead in the swimming pool located within the farmhouse premises. Police officials said the circumstances surrounding the death appeared suspicious, leading them to register a case and begin a detailed probe.

A police official from Choutuppal said that Madhu's father had lodged a complaint regarding the incident, following which a case was registered.

"The deceased, identified as Gundla Madhu, aged 27, was found dead at a farmhouse where employees from the same company had organised a get-together. Based on a complaint filed by his father, we have registered a case and initiated an investigation," the official said.

CERTAIN INJURIES WERE NOTICED ON BODY

Sources familiar with the investigation said certain injuries were noticed on Madhu's body, raising further questions about the circumstances leading to his death. Investigators are examining whether the injuries were sustained before or after he entered the pool.

As part of the investigation, police have reportedly questioned several employees who attended the gathering in an attempt to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the incident. Statements from attendees are being recorded and analysed.

The body has been shifted for postmortem examination, and officials are awaiting the medical and forensic reports, which are expected to provide crucial clues regarding the cause of death.

Police said all angles, including accidental drowning and the possibility of foul play, are being examined. Further investigation is underway.
