3 accused of raping college student in Coimbatore shot by cops, arrested

Three men accused of raping a college student near the airport in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore city were shot by the police and arrested after they allegedly attacked an officer during a chase.

The accused — identified as Thavasi, Karuppasamy, and Kaaleeswaran — were overpowered following the encounter. One police officer injured in the attack has been admitted to a government hospital.
