3 killed, over 10 injured in canter–bus crash

Vijayapura: Three people died, and over 10 others were injured when a canter collided with a govt bus at Loni Cross in Chadchan taluk of Vijayapura district on Tuesday. The accident occurred after a tyre of the canter burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into the bus coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased were identified as canter driver Ashok Utagi, his wife Radhabai Utagi, and bus driver Hanumant Chalavadi. They died on the spot due to severe bleeding. More than 10 bus passengers were injured and shifted to hospitals in Chadchan and Vijayapura. Chadchan CPI Parashuram Managuli and PSI Somesh Gejji visited the spot along with police personnel. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
