Panaji: The Old Goa police on Sunday registered two unnatural death cases. Both the victims were allegedly chronic alcoholics.Police said that a 26-year-old resident of Odisha was brought dead to the casualty ward from Old Goa.
An enquiry conducted with Salai Soren, the cousin of the deceased, revealed that the victim worked as a helper.
He was sick for two days due to stomach pain and jaundice.In the second case, police said the victim, Tanaji Gaikwad, 62, a resident of Maharashtra, was found floating in gutter water near the old police station at Old Goa. The body was removed with the assistance of the fire and emergency service staff. On inquiry, it was found he was a chronic alcoholic. Panaji police also registered a case of unnatural death after a man’s body was found floating near the ferry.
