30-year-old man murdered by friends after argument during party in Balangir district

Balangir: A 30-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his friends following a heated argument during a party in Antarla village under Deogaon police station in Balangir district.

The deceased has been identified as Sujit Kumar Bhoi, son of retired police personnel Miniketan Bhoi.

His body was recovered near a kendu leaf godown in Antarla. “The victim’s body was found near a kendu leaf godown where he had been partying with three others,” said Panchanan Negi, IIC, Deogaon police station.According to police, Sujit and his three friends were drinking late at night when a minor issue escalated into a heated argument. One of the friends allegedly attacked Sujit with a motorcycle chain. Sujit died on the spot. After committing the crime, the suspects fled leaving the injured Sujit behind. They reportedly proceeded to Bhutiarbahal, where they discarded the weapon in a roadside bush. “Three persons have been detained in connection with the case,” said Negi.

Police have recovered the murder weapon.
