34,000 seats allotted in Round 1 of engineering admissions in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: At the end of the first round of degree engineering admissions in Gujarat, 33,993 candidates were allotted seats out of the 61,316 available. While 41,688 students participated, 7,687 candidates missed out on allotments due to insufficient or inappropriate choice filling.Students who were allotted seats must confirm their admission by paying their fees through the official portal by June 30. Students eligible for zero-fee admissions can also confirm their admissions online. Authorities clarified that students only need to pay a token tuition fee and do not need to submit original documents until all online rounds conclude.Registration for the second round will run from July 1 to July 5.While 45 colleges achieved 100% enrolment, 29 colleges filled less than 10% of their capacity, and one college failed to secure a single student. Govt and grant-in-aid institutions filled all 10,969 of their available seats, whereas self-financed colleges filled just 20,817 of their 48,140 seats.
