35 workers held in Bicholim for lack of valid docus

Bicholim: During a verification drive on Thursday, Bicholim police arrested 35 workers who were found without any valid documents. PI Vijay Rane Sardesai said the drive has been ongoing for the past few months at Bandarwada, Vathadev, Goa Steel Rolling Mill, and the industrial estate areas, which have a high concentration of migrant workers.“The people who come to Goa for work should at least provide an Aadhaar card and other details of their native place, including village name, ward number, and local police station. These details are importanyt and come in handy when migrants are suspected of any crime,” he said.
