Assam is gearing up for a historic day on Friday as the much-awaited Assamese film ‘Roi Roi Binale‘, the final film of iconic singer Zubeen Garg, prepares for a record-breaking release. The first show will begin at 4:45 AM in Dhemaji, marking the earliest-ever screening in the state’s film industry.
“Previously, we were planning to start our first screening at 7.30 AM, but since yesterday public pressure was so much that we decided to start the first show from 4.45 AM," a cinema official told News18.
“Just after this announcement, ticket of the first show is almost sold out," the official added.
At TNZ Cinemas in Tezpur, the film will run continuously from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, featuring 14 back-to-back shows. “The first show will start at 5:00 AM on our first screen, followed by another at 5:30 AM on the second," an employee said.
In a historic move, ‘Roi Roi Binale‘ will release in every theatre across Assam—a feat never achieved before. Earlier, Assamese producers often had to wait months or even years for a theatre slot, usually receiving only one or two odd-timed shows in Guwahati.
However, this Friday (October 31), no other films will be screened anywhere in the state, with ‘Roi Roi Binale‘ taking centre stage.
In Guwahati’s Cinepolis multiplex, the film is scheduled for a record 25 shows per day, contributing to an astonishing 179 daily shows across the city. Pre-bookings have already broken records, with over 49,000 ratings even before the release.
Fans are flocking to book tickets for the late Zubeen Garg’s final film, with over 15,000 tickets sold in the first hour of sales alone. Several theatres in Assam have even cancelled other films to accommodate up to 24 daily shows in Cinepolis.
Advance bookings also made history. On the first day of ticket sales, October 24, the film earned Rs 41.20 lakh in advance bookings—around 13,500 tickets across Assam.
This marks the highest-ever opening day advance in Assamese cinema history. Almost in every theatre booking full for the first week.
