Patna: Acting on a tip-off, Salimpur police arrested four individuals following a raid on Thursday for their alleged involvement in a brutal murder and shooting in Shahpur village along NH-30 in Patna’s Barh on Sept 6.Laljit alias Lalji Yadav (35), his brother Shatrughan alias Rohan (37), Rohit Kumar alias Chipu (18) and Chandan Kumar alias Sukhla, all residents of Shahpur village, have been booked under various sections of the BNS and Arms Act.Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kartikeya K Sharma said one Englesh Yadav was killed and four others were injured when some miscreants opened fire at them while they were returning home from Jagdamba Sthan.
“During the raid, the police recovered two country-made pistols and 26 live cartridges believed to have been used in the crime,” he said.Earlier, one accused, Jwala Yadav, was arrested and sent to jail.According to the police, the investigation is ongoing.In a separate targeted operation, Ranitalab police arrested Mahesh Mochi alias Nathun late on Wednesday night, following a tip-off about illegal weapons being concealed at his residence in Kab village of Patna. The raid, conducted under Bhanu Pratap Singh, city superintendent of police (west), led to the recovery of a cache of firearms and ammunition.The SSP said on Thursday that during the search, the police seized a country-made pistol, single-shot 0.315 bore rifle, nine live cartridges and three misfired ones from the house. “A case has been registered against him,” Sharma said.
