Is Rockstar Games planning something bigger than just the base game? With GTA 6 now officially delayed to May 26, 2026, many fans believe Rockstar will try to soften the wait with additional content.
And one of the hottest topics right now? Day-One DLC. Here's why we think Rockstar might actually drop downloadable content on launch day, and what it could be.
1. Vice City Stories Pack
Vice City is back—but what if Rockstar gives us more of it on Day One? A “Vice City Stories” DLC could offer missions, characters, and locations that don't directly tie into Jason and Lucia’s storyline. Think of it as a nostalgic expansion with a modern twist, set in parallel to the main campaign.
This could include characters like an alternate Phil Cassidy arc or a return of Tommy Vercetti's legacy in some form. With so much hype around Vice City’s return, Rockstar knows there’s an audience ready to explore more of it immediately.

2. “Lucia’s Origin” Mission Pack
Lucia is already the talk of the town—the first female protagonist in GTA history. Rockstar might expand her backstory with a “Lucia’s Origin” DLC with short narrative missions that explore her early life, time in prison, or her first brush with crime.
Not only would this build emotional depth, but it could also set up easter eggs or foreshadowing for the main campaign. This kind of character-focused DLC would drive story-lovers wild, and generate a mountain of TikToks and Reddit theories.
3. Multiplayer Prologue Pack
There’s no way Rockstar ignores GTA Online. It prints money. A Multiplayer Prologue Pack could give players a sneak peek at GTA Online 2 with custom characters, early missions, maybe even one of the smaller cities like Grassrivers or Ambrosia as a test zone.
Think of it as a soft-launch, gathering feedback and building hype before the full multiplayer experience drops later in 2026 or 2027. Given how central online gameplay was to GTA V’s lifecycle, launching a small piece of it on Day One just makes sense.

4. Weapons & Vehicle Pack
Every GTA launch comes with flashy rides and mayhem-worthy weapons. A Leonida Essentials Pack could offer:
- Exclusive cars not found in the main game
- Modified weapons like custom flamethrowers or grenade drones
- Vice City-inspired cosmetics for characters and vehicles
It would give players a head start in both campaign and online, and Rockstar could tie it into collector’s editions, pre-orders, or even early access bonuses. While it’s still speculation, Rockstar’s track record with story expansions (GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, Ballad of Gay Tony) and monetized online content make Day-One DLC for GTA 6 very likely. Whether it's narrative-driven, gameplay-focused, or purely cosmetic, you can bet Rockstar will have something waiting for you on day one, and the internet will lose its mind all over again.
