4-year-old chokes to death after pen cap gets stuck in throat

A four-year-old boy choked to death near Kunnamkulam on Thursday (October 23, 2025) after a pen cap got stuck in his throat while eating. The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Shahal, son of Umar and Muhida of Adur, Vellarakkad.

According to the police, the child was having food when the pen cap accidentally slipped into his throat. Noticing him struggling to breathe, the family immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
