5-day Swachh drive next week

Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation is gearing up to receive chief minister Suvendu Adhikari who is scheduled to visit the KMC headquarters on Monday. The civic body will begin a five-day cleanliness drive from Monday as the civic body gets ready to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 20, a day before observance of World Yoga Day in the city.According to a KMC source, senior officials of several civic departments have been asked to participate in the special drive that includes the KMC headquarters. “We have been asked to take adequate steps to ensure cleanliness begins from ward level to the KMC headquarters. We have begun our work that will continue until the next weekend,” said a KMC official.
