6 dead, 5 injured as car carrying wedding guests overturns in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi

LUCKNOW: Six people lost their lives and five others were injured when a car carrying wedding guests overturned in Hardoi on Saturday.The accident occurred around 4 am near Ghazipur village on the Alamnagar road under Shahabad police station limits, as the vehicle was returning to Pali from Kusuma village in the Manjhla police station area.According to police officials, the car, with 11 passengers on board, lost control and fell into a roadside ditch.The impact was so severe that five people, including two brothers, died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital.The deceased have been identified as Jitendra (35) and his son Siddharth (5), Akash (22), Ramu (25) who was the driver, Johri (40), and Udayveer (18).The injured include Narendra (18), Ranjit (18), Aman (21), Parvind (18), Neeraj (17), and Anil (24), who is Neeraj’s cousin from Sakarouli.All victims were residents of Pali.Police circle officer Shahabad Anuj Kumar stated that the car overturned after the driver lost control, leading to the fatal crash.Police rushed to the spot and transported the victims to the hospital, where doctors declared six people dead and referred the others to the district hospital for further treatment.The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and further investigation is underway.
