RAMPUR/SHIMLA: A routine journey turned tragic on Friday when a pickup vehicle carrying six people plunged into a gorge near Urman in the Rampur subdivision of Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district, leaving all its occupants dead, police said.The vehicle, a milk van, was travelling from Rampur to Taklech, a village and panchayat located around 30-35km uphill from Rampur, when the accident occurred.The deceased included Asha Kumari and her son, Yugal, both residents of Anni in Kullu district. Their ages were not immediately known.The other victims were identified as Abhishek Sani, 23, Layak Ram, 56, Nitin, 23, and the driver, Ashok Jain, 23. All were residents of different villages in the Rampur area, police said.A video recorded by Asha Kumari moments before the accident has gone viral on social media. In the clip, she is seen showing her maternal grandparents the village on the opposite side of the valley when the vehicle suddenly veered off the road.Police and local administration teams retrieved the bodies from the gorge and sent them for post-mortem examination.A case has been registered and an investigation into the accident has been initiated.
