60 bovines rescued in Ranchi

Ranchi: The police rescued 60 bovines from two trucks under Pithoria police station limits of Ranchi district on Sunday. As many as 29 buffaloes were rescued from a truck on the Chandwe-Ormanjhi Road.

The truck driver managed to flee the spot.In another operation, cops siezed a truck with 31 oxen near Chandwe Chowk. A case has been registered under relevant sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act and the Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act in connection with the seizures. Police are trying to identify the gang involved in the crime.
