A 60-year-old physically disabled man was found dead and stuffed inside a steel trunk in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in what police believe was a murder over a financial dispute.

The victim, Kishore Paikara, who used a wheelchair, had been reported missing before his body was discovered in a trunk at a house in Indraprastha Colony. He had been living alone in the HMT Chowk area of Handipara.

Preliminary investigations suggest the murder was linked to a land deal gone wrong. Kishore had owned a plot in Mohandi village, which was sold for Rs 50 lakh. The deal was reportedly facilitated by the main accused, Ankit Upadhyay. However, Kishore is said to have received only Rs 30 lakh from the transaction.

When he began demanding the remaining Rs 20 lakh - particularly pressing for Rs 10 lakh immediately - Ankit, along with his wife, allegedly conspired to kill him. Police believe the motive was purely financial and are treating it as a premeditated murder-for-money case.

In connection with the investigation, two property dealers have also been detained for questioning. Authorities are probing their possible involvement in either the land deal or the alleged conspiracy.
