Aizawl: The Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) has alleged that eight candidates from outside Mizoram secured Border Security Force (BSF) posts under the Mizoram quota by using forged residential certificates, and demanded a thorough investigation. In a press statement, MSU president B Lalkhawngaihzuala said the Staff Selection Commission’s (SSC) 2024 recruitment examination for constable (general duty) led to the selection of 10 candidates under the Mizoram state quota, but “eight of those selected were neither Mizos nor residents of Mizoram.”The MSU identified the candidates as Anurag Yadav, Amarjeet Yadav, Rahul Prajapati, Sumit Kumar and Divyansh Pandey, all shown with addresses in Mualveng, Tlangnuam in Aizawl district.

The other three, the union said, are Indresh Pratab and Dinesh Kumar from Chilui in Mamit district, and Shilendra Singh from Phaizau in Mamit district.According to the MSU, the eight candidates submitted residential certificates purportedly issued by the deputy commissioners’ offices in Aizawl and Mamit districts. The MHA, through the BSF Subsidiary Training Centre in Indore, sought verification of the certificates from the two deputy commissioners on July 19, 2025, the statement said. The MSU said it obtained the verification request and the official responses under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
