8-year-old dies hours after eating biryani from hotel in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, an eight-year-old boy, S Sanjeev, tragically died after consuming biryani purchased from a Saravanampatti hotel. Sanjeev, a class II student, ate the biryani with his family on Thursday night and was found unresponsive the following morning.

COIMBATORE: An eight-year-old boy who ate biryani bought from a hotel at Saravanampatti along with his family members on Thursday night was found dead on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as S Sanjeev, from Senthil Golden Gate Phase-I on Sankara College Road at Saravanampatti in Coimbatore city.

The minor boy was studying in class II at a private public school located at Chinna Mettupalayam.The family members of the minor boy bought biryani from a hotel located opposite Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) at Saravanampatti on Thursday night. The family members, including the minor boy, ate the biryani and later, the minor boy was playing with the family members until 12 am on Friday. After that, they went to sleep.His father, Sathyaprabhu, tried to wake him up around 8 am on Friday, and there was no movement in the body of Sanjeev. Immediately, he was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors checked him and asked Sathyaprabhu to take his son to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The doctors declared the minor boy brought dead.The dead body was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for postmortem. Saravanampatti police registered a case, and further investigation is on. Police said that only after the postmortem examination will the real cause of death be known.
