92 special train services during Onam

The Southern Railway will operate 92 special train services during the festival period of Onam to ease the traffic woes of passengers. The 92 special train services announced so far include six services to and from Chennai, Mangaluru (22 services), Bengaluru (18 services), Velankanni (10 services) and Patna (36 services).

In addition, additional coaches have been attached to 10 major trains operating in the State. This includes Thiruvananthapuram – Kozhikode – Thiruvananthapuram Janshatabdi Express (12076/12075) – 1 chair car; Thiruvananthapuram – Ernakulam – Thiruvananthapuram Vanchinad Express (16304/16303) - 1 general second class, Thiruvananthapuram – Guruvayur – Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express (16342/16341) – 1 general second class; Thiruvananthapuram – Madurai – Thiruvananthapuram Amrita Express (16343/16344) – 1 general second class; Mangaluru– Thiruvananthapuram – Mangaluru Maveli Express (16603/16604) – 1 sleeper coach.
