A.P. govt. forms advisory group to strengthen inclusive education in State

The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a State advisory group to strengthen inclusive education and establish 125 autism centres.

A G.O. released to this effect said the advisory group would be represented by Yalamanchili MLA S. Vijay Kumar, Adoni MLA P. V. Parthasarathi, Vizianagaram MLA P. Adhiti Gajapathi Raju, Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh and MLC from Chittoor district Kancharla Srikanth.

The government has also proposed to establish one autism centre in each of the 125 municipalities to promote the welfare of the children with special needs.

According to Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao, the Project Approval Board (PAB) of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has approved a dedicated budget under the PM SHRI scheme for establishment of 125 autism centres across the State in 2025-26 academic year.

These centres would provide specialised educational support and therapeutic services tailored to the needs of children with autism spectrum.
