'Aadu 3' takes the quirky gang from the previous films into a wild multi-timeline fantasy comedy. The story unfolds across three parallel timelines – the past (around 1790 AD), the present day, and a dystopian future in 2370 AD.
Shaji Pappan (Jayasurya) and his gang tackle a chaotic, high-stakes plot involving a mystical, power-controlling Star Dust stone and reincarnations. In the past storyline, Shaji Pappan appears as Padmanabha Thamburan, a local king. The movie ends on a cliffhanger, teasing a 2nd part.
ETimes review
ETimes gave the film a rating of 2.5 stars and our official review reads, "The songs by Shaan Rahman and the background score by Dawn Vincent work well, and there are a few comic dialogues and moments—like the High Range Che Guevara reference—that make you laugh heartily.
However, apart from these, there is little that stands out as worthy of a third installment in the franchise. The supposed comedy, unfortunately, feels forced in places, and there is little spontaneity or organic humor in situations that are meant to be funny.
"
Cast and performances
Jayasurya leads the film as Shaji Pappan in different avatars across timelines. The gang returns with their usual chaos and silly energy. Midhun Manuel Thomas directs this fantasy comedy and Shaan Rahman composed the songs while Dawn Vincent handled the background score. On the other hand, Jayasurya's most awaited 'Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer' had unveiled the trailer for the film on the last day.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
