Abhay Kumar Singh to act as Director-General of Police

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday directed senior IPS officer Abhay Kumar Singh to act as the Director-General of Police/Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu (in-charge), as incumbent G. Venkataraman, DGP, Administration/HoPF (i/c), Tamil Nadu, was granted earned leave to undergo medical treatment.

According to a G.O. issued by Home Secretary Dheeraj Kumar, Mr. Venkataraman was granted earned leave subject to eligibility for 15 days from December 9 and 23 to undergo medical treatment. It said that Mr. Singh was directed to act as DGP / HoPF, Tamil Nadu, Chennai (i/c) during the said period.
