After graduating from J.R. Tucker High School in Henrico County and completing a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger moved on to earn an MBA from a dual-degree program between Purdue University and the GISMA business school in Germany.In terms of her career she worked at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service as the only woman on the arrest team.
Next, she joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as a case officer and later moved on to work in the private sector. It was the 2016 election results that inspired her to enter politics, making her the first Democrat elected to serve Virginia's Seventh District in the U.S. House from 2019 to 2025.Today, she became the first female governor of the state ever.
