Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Visakhapatnam Range, caught G.D. Vamsee Kalyan, Sub-Treasury Officer, working in Chintoor Sub-Treasury Office, and senior accountant N.V.M.S. Samuel, of Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district, while they were allegedly taking ₹1 lakh bribe from the complainant on Monday.
The accused reportedly demanded ₹2 lakh bribe for verifying and approving the increment arrears bill for 10 years of a school assistant working in Narasimhapuram Government Tribal Welfare Ashram Higher Secondary School (GTWAH) in the ASR district.
Acting on a complaint, the ACB team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police B.V.S. Nageswara Rao arrested the accused at their office, while they were accepting ₹1 lakh as advance amount.
CI, head constable trapped
In another case, the Kurnool Range ACB officials caught Kurnool Fourth Town police station Circle Inspector B. Madhusudhan Goud and head constable G. Ravi Kumar, while they were allegedly accepting ₹80,000 for doing favour to the complainant in an attempt-to-murder case.
The accused would be produced in the Kurnool ACB Special Court on Monday, the ACB officials said in a release.
