The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has warned government employees and people to be cautious of fraudulent callers posing as ACB officials and demanding money to avoid action in alleged corruption cases.
The Bureau stated that some individuals are making fake calls using different mobile numbers and other contact sources, threatening public servants and demanding payments.
In one such instance, a complaint was lodged at Mill Colony Police Station in Warangal.
The Director General of ACB clarified that these calls are entirely fraudulent and urged government employees not to believe or respond to such demands.
Anyone receiving such calls, whether a public servant or a member of the public, has been advised to contact the ACB toll-free number 1064 immediately, besides informing the local police station.
The ACB can also be reached via WhatsApp at 9440446106, on Facebook at ‘Telangana ACB’, and on X (formerly Twitter) at @TelanganaACB. The Bureau assured that the names and details of those reporting such incidents will be kept confidential.
