ADGP holds meeting over security arrangements during festival processions in Shivamogga

R. Hitendra, Additional DGP (Law and Order), on Monday, held a meeting with district police officers on the security measures taken to avoid untoward incidents during processions of Ganesha and Id Milad celebrations in the district.

The ADGP, after reviewing the preparations made, instructed the officers to perform their duties with utmost responsibility. In the coming days, the processions to be held at Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Ripponpet, and Sagar were significant and the officers must carry out security arrangements with great caution, he said.

He told the officers to remain in their designated sectors and perform their duties diligently. He suggested effective surveillance during the procession and intensified patrolling duties. He highlighted that the officers on the ground should keep an eye on those who raise slogans during the procession.

The ADGP suggested the use of drone cameras at strategic locations and ensuring all activities are monitored. He instructed the officers to take action against those causing noise levels exceeding 75 decibels as per the orders of the Supreme Court.

Ravikanteh Gowda, IGP of Eastern Range, G.K. Mithun Kumar, SP of Shivamogga, and other officers were present at the meeting.
