HYDERABAD: Adluri Laxman formally assumed charge as the minister for SC, ST, minority welfare, and empowerment of persons with disabilities, and cleared several welfare-related files on day one.
He sanctioned ₹5 crore for self-employment units and approved a revolving fund of ₹3.55 crore for SHGs of persons with disabilities. He also directed steps to increase the number of Ambedkar Overseas Education Scheme beneficiaries for SCs from 210 to 500. He signed off on ₹79.61 crore for repair works in tribal educational institutions, ₹17.18 crore for maintaining tribal mini gurukuls, and ₹44.5 crore for works related to Medaram jatara.
