Chhath Puja Special Flights: Ahead of the festive season, SpiceJet on Thursday announced additional special flights to Bihar to accommodate increased travel demand during Diwali and Chhath Puja. The airline has introduced new flights from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to Patna, further strengthening Patna’s air connectivity with major cities like Delhi and Mumbai ahead of the festive rush.

According to the airline, the new services started in phases from October 10 and were introduced to manage the rush during the festive season. According to an official statement from SpiceJet, the additional flights schedule would offer travellers greater convenience and flexibility, making it easier for people to visit their families during the festive period.

“The festive season holds immense significance for millions of our passengers, and we are delighted to make travel home for Chhath Puja and Diwali more convenient and accessible. With enhanced connectivity to Patna, Darbhanga, and Ayodhya, SpiceJet continues to play a key role in bringing people closer to their loved ones for celebrations that matter most," said Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet.

Air India Announces Chhath Puja Special Flights

Earlier, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express had also announced 166 additional flights to manage the festive rush. The airlines have announced 114 extra flights by Air India and 52 by Air India Express, connecting Patna with major cities such as Delhi and Bengaluru.

The additional flights began operations on October 15 and will continue till November 2, ensuring smooth travel during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. These services are in addition to Air India’s 42 weekly flights to Patna from Delhi and Mumbai, and 14 weekly flights by Air India Express from Delhi and Bengaluru.

With both airlines expanding their networks, passengers travelling to Bihar for Diwali and Chhath Puja can expect more flight options, better schedules, and easier access to their hometowns, reducing the usual festive travel chaos.
