Buchi Babu Sana is currently basking in the success of his latest release ‘Peddi’ starring Ram Charan. Recently, the director reacted to the ongoing rumours about a possible film with Mahesh Babu.

As per an India Today report, during the success meet of ‘Peddi,’ he was asked about the ongoing reports suggesting Buchi Babu Sana is expected to work with the ‘Varanasi’ star.

The question also mentioned rumours about the project being a mythological film.Instead of giving a direct answer, Buchi Babu said, "Let's wait for the right time. Elders are here. Time will decide anything." His statement neither confirmed nor denied the reports.For the unversed, for the past few months there have been reports about Buchi Babu Sana potentially collaborating with Mahesh Babu. Interestingly, these rumours started even before the release of ‘Peddi,’ which has now turned out to be a commercial success.

Buchi Babu Sana’s work front

Speaking about Buchi Babu Sana, he started working as an assistant director under the ace filmmaker Sukumar on films including ‘Arya 2’, ‘100% Love’ and ‘Rangasthalam,’ which also stars Ram Charan.Later he made his directorial debut with the 2021 romantic drama, ‘Uppena,’ which received huge critical acclaim and even won the Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 69th National Film Awards. After that, he got his first big project in the form of ‘Peddi,’ working with top stars and on a high budget.

Initially, there were doubts about Buchi Babu Sana handling such a high-profile and expensive budget in his second outing. Now, his film ‘Peddi’ has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide in over 11 days, according to Sacnilk.

Mahesh Babu’s next film

On the other hand, Tollywood giant Mahesh Babu is working on one of the biggest films of his career with top filmmaker SS Rajamouli, named ‘Varanasi’. The film is being made on a scale to cater to the global audience with a huge reported budget of over Rs 1400 crore. The film also features Priyanka Chopra as the female lead while Prithiviraj Sukumaran plays the main antagonist. It is set to hit the big screens on April 7, 2027.
