The RSS on Monday demanded a thorough and impartial probe into the suicide of an IT professional from Kerala’s Kottayam district, who left a note on Instagram alleging that he was sexually abused at an RSS shakha. He was found dead in Thiruvananthapuram on October 9.
In a statement issued in Kottayam, RSS Dakshina Keralam Saha Prantha Karyavah K B Sreekumar said the death of “one of our Swayamsevaks is sad and unfortunate”.
“RSS also demands a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances that led to the unnatural death…along with a suicide note that appeared on Instagram and other social media platforms soon after his death. It contains some dubious and baseless allegations against the Sangh, which he claims was the cause of his suicide,” Sreekumar said.

In a petition submitted to police in Kottayam seeking an impartial probe into the incident, the RSS alleged that there was a deliberate and malicious attempt to implicate the organisation, which it claimed was possibly part of a larger conspiracy to malign and discredit its image in the public domain.
On Saturday, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the CPI(M), had also demanded a probe into the suicide. DYFI state general secretary V K Sanooj claimed the man had been facing mental trauma over the alleged sexual abuse. “We have been repeatedly talking about what’s happening in RSS ‘shakhas’. Many people had joined RSS… His death is a warning to such persons,” Sanooj alleged.
Congress leader and the MP from Kerala’s Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on Sunday took to X and said, “He clearly stated that he was not the only victim and rampant sexual abuse is taking place in RSS camps. If true, then this is horrifying. Lakhs of young children and teenagers attend these camps all over India.”
The BJP also commented on the issue on Monday, joining the call for a “free and fair” probe. The party also accused the Congress of playing “dastardly politics” over the incident to malign the image of the RSS.

“This incident is very unfortunate and painful. But what is more painful is the dastardly politics which the Congress is trying to play to malign the image of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh,” BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said.
The Thiruvananthapuram city police have registered a case of natural death.
