Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday highlighted India’s growing stature on the global stage, stating that the country continues to rise and support the world when the need arises.
Addressing a gathering in Rajasthan’s Sikar, Bhagwat said, “We are seeing it today that every time the world is in need, India rises." He emphasized that India’s post-independence journey has defied all odds and skepticism about its growth. He proudly said that today, India is leaving a mark at a global level with its development.
“If we look at our country’s history after independence, based on that history, no one could say that India will rise. But today, India is rising and marking its presence in the world despite the big powers," he added.
Referring to the early years of an independent India, Bhagwat pointed out that some observers had doubts whether democracy would survive in the country. The RSS chief added that India is way ahead of many nations when it comes to democracy.
“Some people had predicted that democracy would not be able to function in India after independence. Today, when we talk about democracy, India is ahead of many countries of the world."
Bhagwat’s remarks come at a time when India continues to play an increasingly active role in global affairs, from diplomacy to economic partnerships, while also navigating complex domestic challenges.
