AHMEDABAD: The city received 4mm of rain between 6pm and 8pm on Monday, while cloudy skies prevailed throughout the day. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 31.3 degrees celsius, which was 6.6 degrees below normal.
The minimum temperature stood at 26.5 degrees, about 1.1 degrees below the seasonal average.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain with occasional heavy showers in the city on Tuesday. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated locations across several districts of Gujarat.Widespread rain was reported across the state on Monday. Surat city was the wettest, logging 242mm of rainfall - 135mm of which fell within just two hours between 8am and 10am.
In Anand district, Borsad recorded 132mm of rain. Within Ahmedabad district, Dhandhuka received 58mm of rainfall, followed by Viramgam with 52mm, and Sanand with 24 mm.The IMD has issued a yellow alert for several districts including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Rajkot, Junagadh, and others, warning of possible heavy rain at isolated places. Parts of south Gujarat are likely to continue receiving heavy rain for the next 3-4 days.
