On Thursday, an Air India plane carrying 242 passengers crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad International Airport. According to authorities, at least 120 persons are believed to have died as a result of the tragic tragedy.
The plane, on its way to London, crashed in a residential neighbourhood five minutes after takeoff from Gujarat's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport. Images of the jet crash have spread on social media, showing columns of dark smoke in the sky.Twelve of the 242 passengers were cabin crew members. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also suspected of being on board the Air India flight to London. PM Modi has taken stock of the situation, and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu is heading to Ahmedabad to assess the situation. TV celebs took to their social media handles to express their grief over the incident. Aly Goni wrote, "Heartbreaking news about the Air India plane crash. Prayers for the passengers, crew, and their families." Rupali Ganguly penned, "The visuals of the plane crash in Ahmedabad are heart-wrenching, a heartfelt prayer for the safety of all passengers and crew members."Jannat Zubair wrote, "What happened in Ahmedabad today is just devastating.
A plane full of people gone within minutes. It's hard to even put into words how heavy this feels. Thinking of every life lost, and every family left behind. This really broke something inside today." Shark Tank India's Aman Gupta wrote, "I can't imagine what the 242 family are going through. The loss is heavy, but the unanswered questions must feel even harder. My prayers are with them." Rajiv Adatia added, "My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that were onboard the Air India plane that crashed towards London. My prayers are with you and your families."
Karan Kundrra also penned, "Very shocking news that such a tragedy has occured. I really wish and pray that some miracle happens and there are survivors who come out safe! My deep sympathies with the family of everyone on board."
