Bengaluru police have registered a case against the user of an Instagram account named ‘Kannada Chitraranga’ for allegedly creating an AI-edited video showing Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar pushing and causing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to fall.

The complaint was filed by Deepu C.R., a law practitioner, who shared the link to the Instagram post and stated that the video was AI-edited. It was posted with the caption DKShi avaru heege maadabaradittu, meaning “DKS shouldn’t have done this.”

According to the complainant, the accused created a fake video mimicking a news channel broadcast, portraying breaking news visuals showing Mr. Shivakumar pushing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The video allegedly contained statements such as: “Shivakumar pushed CM Siddaramaiah and the latter fell,” “Happened during the meeting,” and “Enraged DKS pushed CM.”

The complainant said the video tarnishes the image of both politicians and is of a nature that could disturb public peace and harmony.

Following the complaint, the Sadashivanagar Police registered an FIR under Sections 192 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 336(4) (forgery), and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the BNS. The police are yet to identify the suspect.
