Patna: The patient safety cell of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, on Monday launched a weeklong awareness and sensitisation programme on “Safe newborn and childhood.
”The initiative, under the guidance of executive director Dr S Varshney, seeks to educate people on the importance of newborn and child safety.Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Divendu Bhushan, nodal patient safety officer, stressed the need for widespread awareness among expectant mothers. “Every pregnant woman should be aware of newborn and child safety measures,” he said, underlining the importance of regular weight checks and timely vaccinations.The programme will feature a range of activities, including poster presentations, outreach initiatives, a rangoli competition and basic life support (BLS) training for security guards.
