Indian aviation industry veteran Sanjay Kumar
NEW DELHI: Indian aviation industry veteran Sanjay Kumar has joined SpiceJet as executive director (ED). Kumar has been in the industry for almost 35 years, joining Air Sahara in 1991 and later was at IndiGo where he was the chief commercial officer & subsequently chief strategy and revenue officer.
He has also been the COO of AirAsia India and president & CEO of InterGlobe Technology Quotient.In his second stint at SpiceJet which started Monday (Nov 3), Kumar will “lead the airline’s strategic initiatives focused on expansion, operational excellence, and business transformation as it embarks on its next phase of growth.” He will report to CMD Ajay Singh.Ajay Singh said: “We are delighted to welcome Sanjay back to the SpiceJet family.
His deep understanding of the aviation business and proven leadership will be invaluable as we chart a new course for SpiceJet.
