The National Testing Agency (NTA) is currently accepting online applications for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for admission to Class 6 and Class 9 in Sainik Schools and New Sainik Schools across the country for the academic year 2026-27.

Students who are yet to apply are advised to complete the process at the earliest, as the application window will soon close on October 30, 2025.According to the official schedule, the last date to submit the application form online is October 30, 2025 (up to 5 pm), while the last date to successfully complete fee payment is October 31, 2025 (up to 11:50 pm). Candidates can access the application form through the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society.

AISEE 2026: Three new schools added

This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has included three new Sainik Schools in the AISSEE 2026 admission cycle. These institutions are part of the Ministry of Defence initiative to establish 100 such schools across India. The newly added schools are:

Earlier in June 2025, the Ministry of Defence approved 86 new Sainik Schools under this national expansion initiative.

AISEE 2026: Exam schedule and format

The examination will be conducted in an offline, pen-and-paper mode using OMR sheets.

The test pattern includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Class 6 entrance test duration: 150 minutes, offered in 13 languages
Class 9 entrance test duration: 180 minutes, offered only in English medium

The AISSEE 2026 examination is expected to be held in January 2026, and admit card download dates will be announced on the official portal in due course. Results are likely to be declared within four to six weeks after the exam.

AISEE 2026: Application fee

Candidates must pay the examination fee online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or Unified Payments Interface (UPI):

General, Other Backward Classes-Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Defence, and Ex-servicemen: ₹850
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST): ₹700

AISEE 2026: Correction window

A correction facility will be available from November 2 to November 4, 2025, allowing candidates to edit specific details in their application form.
