'Marwari go back' protest in Telangana after parking clash, BJP defends community
A 'Marwadi go-back' campaign has gained momentum in Telangana, stemming from a petty car parking dispute in the Secunderabad area. The incident escalated into a caste-related conflict after alleged caste-based slurs were used. This has now transformed into a broader local versus non-local dispute, targeting Gujarati and Rajasthani residents in Telangana. Activists from SC, ST, and Dalit communities allege that Marwadi communities are oppressing local businesses and limiting employment opportunities. The campaign is led by Telangana Shyam and Prithviraj, with a round table conference held and protests planned. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay stated that the Marwadi community protects Hindus and Sanatan Dharma, accusing Congress and AIMIM of instigating violence. MLA Raja Singh says won't allow the slur. The situation reflects significant tension in Hyderabad.
