Akshaye and Rishi worked together in 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen' in 1999. With that film, the latter made his directorial debut. In an interview with Simi Garewal on her talk show, Khanna was asked about his experience working with Rishi Kapoor.Recalling her conversation with Rishi Kapoor, Simi Garewal told Akshaye that the legendary actor once said that Khanna is a 'gifted' actor but has a 'serious attitude problem.'Khanna was quick to respond, with a laugh, saying, 'So does he.'

He then added a heartfelt statement about his respect for the veteran actor and his family. “Oh yeah, he has a major attitude problem. But he is such a great guy, and I loved working with him, the whole family; they are such wonderful people."
