Ferrero, who had guided Alcaraz since age 15 and lead him to his first six Grand Slam titles, stated that he couldn't refuse the offer to coach Carlos again.

When Carlos Alcaraz split from long-time coach Juan Carlos Ferrero last December, it sent shockwaves through the tennis world.
After all, this wasn’t just any partnership.
Ferrero had been guiding Alcaraz since the Spaniard was just 15, and under his watch, Alcaraz won six Grand Slam titles and rose to World No. 1.
Naturally, most fans assumed the duo would stick together for years.
Instead, the partnership came to a sudden end.
Now, Ferrero is finally set to open up about the split in a blockbuster interview with Spanish journalist Josep Pedrerol, airing Thursday.
And one teaser has already grabbed attention.
Asked whether he would return if Alcaraz ever called him back, Ferrero didn’t hesitate.

“They say sequels are never as good," Ferrero said. “But in some movies, they really are. Deep down in my heart, I couldn’t say no to him."
The answer hardly surprises anyone who followed their journey. The two shared an unusually close relationship on tour — one Alcaraz himself once described as “like having a second father."
Still, Ferrero’s response remains purely hypothetical for now. Neither side has hinted at a reunion.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz appears to be moving forward just fine.
Speaking to Eurosport ahead of the BNP Paribas Open, the 22-year-old admitted life without Ferrero does feel different, but not dramatically so.
“It is what it is," Alcaraz said. “I wouldn’t say it’s a new team. It’s mostly the same members; we just restructured a little bit. The members are the same as before. We’re just missing one."
“You feel it a bit when you return to tournaments you played last year, but we try to feel as comfortable as possible on and off the court."
If there were fears that the split might derail his momentum, Alcaraz has quickly put those to rest.
The Spaniard has started the season on a 12-match winning streak, lifting titles at the Australian Open and the Qatar Open.
That Australian Open triumph was particularly historic — Alcaraz became the youngest player ever to complete the Career Grand Slam, surpassing fellow Spaniard and idol Rafael Nadal.
