Alert residents helped police arrest a 35-year-old Nigerian national who was allegedly trying to deliver MDMA to a client at NTI Layout, Kodigehalli on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Nauzi Blessing, has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The accused, clad in a burqa, was allegedly moving around suspiciously and was caught when she was taking a photograph of a building, later found to be to send to the client as the “drop location” for the delivery of the narcotics. Growing suspicious of her movements, some residents reportedly confronted her, prompting her to flee.
Scared, the accused barged into a house and reportedly threw a packet she had into a dustbin and tried to flee. However, residents surrounded the house and alerted the police. Police recovered the packet she threw in the dustbin and found it was MDMA.
Police have arrested the accused and recovered 34 g of MDMA worth ₹1.7 lakh. The accused was found to be overstaying as her visa had expired.
